Is there a reason why my copy-paste isn't working?

I keep getting an error “The clipboard is currently disabled”

I’m only able to duplicate components, but can’t copy and paste.

I can’t even copy and paste text anywhere in momen.

Is this a feature or a bug?

You can check your browser’s settings, as this usually happens when the browser has disabled your clipboard

I just changed my settings to “Allow” for the clipboard in my browser settings. It says it was automatically blocked before. I’m using Arc browser. I restarted the browser but now get this error:

“The target component cannot be pasted”

The component in this case is an input field.

Have you tried using Chrome? Momen seems to work better with it.

Exact same issue with Chrome, just tested it now.

Can you please record your screen? Maybe you paste it in the wrong place

Ahh, i see i need to first click into a view to paste it. All sorted now, thanks!

Yes, when pasting a component, there must be a container to hold that component. If you try to paste a button component onto another button component, it will result in an error.

Makes sense, might be worth changing the error message to “First select a container component to paste” or similar. Or allowing it to paste directly into the parent container of the element if no container is selected.

Actually, the error message I am getting here is not ‘The clipboard is currently disabled,’ but ‘The target component cannot be pasted.’ Could you show me where pasting would cause the error ‘The clipboard is currently disabled’?

I was getting ‘The clipboard is currently disabled’ before I changed my browser settings to allow momen to use the clipboard. Now it also shows “The target component cannot be pasted” - but this message doesn’t provide a solution or why it’s happening.

Makes sense, we will change it to a more reasonable prompt.
